Henkel Macromelt® Low Pressure Moulding Materials

p470681767-5

EC Moulding services have based our process’s around Henkel Corporation’s brand of thermoplastic hotmelt adhesives called Macromelt® or more recently called Technomelt®. There are a number of material suppliers that offer comparable alternatives but at EC we have chosen to work closely with the compounds from Henkel Corporation as they offer superior sealing and environmental specifications.

Macromelt thermoplastic hotmelt adhesives are based on natural fatty acids, they show good adhesion to plastics like PA6.6, ABS and PVC have low temperature flexibility and a wide service temperature range and offer superior moulding properties.

Characteristics of Macromelt®

Each grade of material is available in the amber based version and in black and some custom to order colours are available – contact us.

The softer materials generally offer the best adhesive properties.

Moisture and solvent resistance requirements will be key factors in selecting a specific grade of material. Most Macromelt moulding materials do NOT have good resistance to solvents in combination with mechanical stress.

These molding compounds shrink approximately 1.5% after molding.
